luck or fate?

Do you wanna be rich? Well, me too. Us, too.

Sometimes, it only takes one big break to acquire wealth and fame, education can come last.

Blessed are those people with wealthy families whose future are secured, fastened with inheritance making them a full blown heir.

People with great minds, inventors, business tycoons manage a very lucrative business bringing in more and more profits lifting them up to the top of the world.

Please exclude Queen Elizabeth and other royal families in this planet.

If you are like me, belonging to the common public, then you too  hold a lot of options and challenges in solving the way out of the labyrinth. I might not become the practical online broker who wrestles with stock trading and online trading but my profession can bring in goodluck allowing me to fund an investment. Who says the ascent to the pinnacle is easy? Nobody...

Not everybody is lucky though... but I believe that there's nothing . . . absolutely NOTHING  . . .  impossible with hard work combined with prayers. If you ask God to grant you wealth, don't ever be disappointed if He gives you friendship, love and family. There are a lot of things in this world that money cannot buy and if you have those then you are very much a wealthy person.

some decorating

We were at Walmart early this evening buying some groceries when hubby and I arrived at the home decor section. He surprised me with a question..."come on, do you want some decorating?" Of course, I do! I answered softly and timidly, "maybe we can check B-B-B (Bed, Bath and Beyond)??"

When I first got here, I thought Walmart have it all.. Oohhh how wrong I was... Well,.. yeah sure, they have almost everything in the store but I learned that one can find better deals, better options from a lot of different stores. I have been dreaming of this moment when hubby would be willing to make our flat look more homey. It's actually at the end of the list because even though we can even afford to buy a house of our own, our status makes it difficult for us to settle. Not just yet. The situation is so complex I'm teetering  between two options that I know as soon as they grant our papers I have to drop the other shoe and acquire a degree and license here in US. My passion is my profession and after some discerning, it's clear to me that God wants me not to leave my practice and find my way around the bushes. It's a mountain climb but with God's mercy and guidance, I think I'll be ok.

Anyways,.. going back to decorating stuff. . . . I found something from Myrtle Beach Hotel website, in the photo gallery which excites me. Curtains and rods, with strong colors accentuating the minimalist style of a living room. There's no elbow room in our place, enough for a couple starting a new life but I think a little decorating will lighten up the apartment. I wish I could see the room personally, call Myrtle Beach Accomodations or Myrtle Beach Accomodation number and book for two. Hmmm... unfortunately, hubby's membership at La Quinta earns extra points each time we book in one of their branches and we wouldn't want to waste that, don't we.

Gotta go, have to sleep early so I can wake up early... I wasn't able to make it to Kickboxing class this morning because the class starts at 8:30am every Thursday and I woke up almost 9am. Tomorrow I have a chance to join Step Circuit and it starts at 9:45am... When I'm in the Philippines, my eyes automatically open at 6am. Here in US, my bodyclock barely copes. Winter is more supportive compared to Summer time. Ayayay!! So,.. goodnight Amigo. Till next time again.

from old to new shoes

Whole day we strayed around Houston and Sugarland searching for an Advent wreath.  Actually, last night, I found one reasonable enough on the internet, it's just that we tried to compare it from the price of the one bought directly at a store. Unfortunately, we ended up buying groceries instead. There's one more place I will visit tomorrow, a Catholic Store just outside the complex we live. Keeping my fingers crossed!!

Along the way, hubby spotted a branch of David's Bridal and teased "wanna step inside and check it out?" I replied, "what for?" He chuckled and joked, "I dunno, maybe just to bug myself on nicer things and less expensive bridal accessories my eyes could see. . ."

Yeah right! You're late .. 1 year, 5 months and 1 week, honey! But, goodness!! I too, have my own "IF ONLYs . ." like If only I have found this site before where one can shop for beautiful bridal shoes at http://www.zappos.com/Bridal-Shoes . . .  ahhh If only! If only I can get those Calvin Klein bridal shoes and shop at http://www.zappos.com/Bridal-Shoes
- turn back time and make everything perfect. . Btw, shopping at http://www.zappos.com/Bridal-Shoes is actually friendly and easy like the other websites most of us browse. Shopping is easy, fun and endless but paying credits isn't. Ohh.. well... life. You win some, you lose some. It now reminds me of that one episode of Wife Swap where they featured one shopaholic mom and the other who never shops at all... . . . EXTREMES! Shouldn't we all strive to live a balanced life so that we enjoy what life offers? We only live once! That's what I also remind my husband constantly. Balance.... balance..... balance...

Adios Amigo!!

I'm really not doing anything right now...

  • Mood - ready to regain my childhood routine again
  • Singing - I'm ready . . . wanting . . . taking this blessed chance to dance like a kid again
  • Reading - the laptop's thoughts . . .
  • Thinking - if there's any . . .
Hubby and I just got back from the gym and for the first time after almost a year of episodic (i'm really not a gym person but health wise, hubby and I have to try harder...)weight lifting and running on a treadmill,.. something from a group Pilates class I noticed at the gym brought back childhood memories and inspired me to tell out loud hubby I want to come back and join the class.

Now I'm home and highlighted Pilates schedule, Kickboxing, Yoga and Step Circuit. Yeah, I think I wanna try Yoga, it will be my first time to do some.... Hooooossssaaahhhhh real time!

Anyways,.. our lunch is still cooking in the kitchen and I have this blogging assignment about Revenue Sharing on blogging for money. Do you know that there's money in blogging? Yeah,.. click the highlighted words and learn "How to Make Money Blogging". All you need to work out (not at the gym, ok?) is how to promote blog and get a high page rank score, maintain the PR so more assignments come your way. The thing is ..... nothing treads in my head but Kickboxing tomorrow and Pilates on Monday. .. oh but wait... hehehehe I think I already have an entry  . . Lemme highlight the words and link it to the website..  . . . . tink! . . .  . tack!. . . . .  link here. . . . . . there. . . . . . DONE!

Things like blogging clear up the cobwebs in my head and bring back that crisp, fresh thoughts... it's my own cathartic way to purge out unwanted tensions when the weight of boredom gets heavy on my shoulders.

Hooossssahhhh....

Goodbye Boxer . . .

Yesterday, I was devastated by my father's text message. Our Boxer (a mixed breed) died after being in the woods the whole day. He got lost but tried to find the way back home. Everybody was worried sick he was as good as gold, you know. Everybody loves him and when he returned home, tired and breathing heavily, all the people in the house, totally concerned stopped panicking and got relieved.

If you'll take a look at Boxer, he was just a simple dog, maybe some people wouldn't even take a second look at him. I know a lot of my friends buy pure bred dogs, Boxer was nothing of the kind. But, like the saying "all that glitters is not gold", I could attest to what Boxer left us as his own legacy. A dog, has his own legacy? Believe it or not, he taught me that it requires nothing to show loyalty and protection to the people we love by serving them unceasingly, unmindful of our worth weight in gold
. He used to escort us like a police riding in a motor bike, 3 yards ahead our car as soon as we leave the garage. He knew his already off duty once he reached the guard house, then he'll turn around.

If Boxer was a human being, surely he's got a heart of gold. Never did I see him angry at someone or something. One time, Daffy our grouchy Chow Chow attacked him and lacerated his muscles on one of his hind legs. The normal reaction of other dogs would be to fight back but not Boxer. Maybe it's cowardice to run away and maybe he wasn't really a tough dog but when I saw his eyes as Rolly tried to mend his injury, they displayed nothing but innocence. Then I knew we cannot trade Boxer for even a bucket of gold bullion.

We lost one of our jewels but Boxer will always have a special place in my heart. It's sad to come home in January and not see a familiar shape lying in the corner of the garage. But I know it's play time for him and God so I'll move on and wait for the day when I can get to see him again.

Long drive by the desert

Last Thursday night, hubby and I packed our bags and left Friday early morning to start our "supposedly" long and exciting journey to Los Angeles targeting the Golden Gate Bridge and Yosemite (would surely love to embrace - that is if I can - the giant Sequoia trees . Our plan to take the 12 hour drive from Houston to El Paso came out fine, (now I believe when they say everything in Texas is B-I-G because the state of Texas is literally BIG! We saw miles and miles of Wind turbines standing tall on top of the plateaus which I dubbed Flat Tops) We spent the night at La Quinta. As soon as I got my Wifi connection, an email arrived for hubby from his company asking him to accomplish something before Monday.  That email sent us back to Houston the soonest possible time after we toured Tucson the following day.

It was a 5 hour drive from El Paso, Texas to Tucson, Arizona. We passed the border to New Mexico which brought us to the greatness of different varieties of cactus - the home of scorpions and rattle snakes - the desert.

At first I was in awe, grateful to see another unique and wonderful creations of God, a scenic view new to my sight (Texas Canyon), second I became intrigued by the signs along the road like SPEED LIMIT MONITORED BY AIRCRAFT, . . and the START and END of the SAFETY CORRIDOR . . .  whhaaaatttt??? Since I'm the other eye (and hand) on the road of my better half, I was coaching him not to challenge the speed limit indicated on our GPS. It's tempting especially because we were in the middle of a desert and it appeared like we were just by ourselves on the road. I was already dreaming of checking in at one of
the Oceanfront Myrtle Beach Resorts in between yawns during the trip. My mind clouded with boredom thought "Why on earth can't they put a recreation business on this arid land something like those of Myrtle Beach Resorts?? " My mental state was already in disarray to think that we were to drive 3 more hours to reach Tucson. Good thing a beautiful sight occurred - a mountain peak behind some jagged ridges from a distance spot lighted by sun rays pushing through the rain clouds made my day. So you can say that I stopped my dreaming of Beach Resorts Myrtle Beach!!

Am I really posting Pacman here??

Yes I am.... I'm a follower of the People's Champ. I admire his discipline and dedication in training. He continuously proves that anybody is capable of doing something great when he sets his heart into it and how that person will be perpetually blessed when he keeps on sharing to others the blessings he received.

When much is given, much is expected.

I was thinking a while ago to blog about our recent trip to Arizona but on second thought, I'd like to talk first how excited I am to watch another game of Pacman on Direct TV with hubby and friends! It's an honor to witness this generation, all Filipinos around the globe being united by a true fighter even for just a moment - win or lose!

Hubby and I were trying to come up with a decision where to go for TV viewing this time. It's always fun watching the fight with a group of friends after all, we haven't tried Direct TV Service at home. I heard Direct TV Packages are far better than our subscription. Hmm.. well heck yeah!! Who can give Direct TV Deals better than Kim Basinger herself?

I am just so sloppy

I feel like exploding right now, - I can't believe I have not blogged about going back to US after visiting my clinic (!@! business going slow . . can't figure out if it's still the reverberations of global recession or a sign of protest from my patients hoping I'll stay in the Philippines for a few more months or they are leaving me  - whichever, surely it's not helpful!) I know you can feel my worries in fact, I'm fretting. Maybe it's my hormones again gone amok, or just tired from the long drive to Arizona or my ever pesky sensitive nature.. any of the three surely not helpful, right now, I'm a certified grouch,.. with a capital G! Nothing can pacify me not even those Marc Jacobs or Coach handbags .. I need to talk to a level headed person who can whisk away my doubts, reinforce faith and spirit because right now, I guess I'm in drought. Burn out? I don't know, it just feels like giving up.

Ask me what time it is right now and I'll tell you, it is 12:04 midnight. I don't feel sleepy.. I know I'm tired and weary - physically and mentally - but I don't care. I'm in self destruct mode. Can someone turn off the switch, please!!! I know I just have to use up this large defective energy so that it wouldn't inflict more damages. Whooooossssssaaaaaa. . .  . . I'm seeing myself clad with a Burberry Peacoat with a D&G sunglass hiding my eyebags....

Seriously, I'm running out of patience, fagged out of hoping that things will be better, that good things are worth waiting for. Toxic issues need to be excreted otherwise detrimental effects murder good intentions. That's why it really is better to buy Anna Cohen eco-fashion clothes . . where did it come from??  . . . . . just to minimize toxins in our surrounding.. it can also be a big factor you know in stabilizing ones system.

just a quick glimpse

I'm back in US almost 2 weeks now, my mind still blank, draggy on writing tasks and journaling. When I was in my home country I was busy with work and catching up with good old friends that I hardly find time even on checking my emails.. but never on FACEBOOKing - hehehehe - good thing hubby constantly helped out on farming that our crops never wilted in Farmville.

So now, aside from waiting my laundry to get cleaned in the washer side by side with cooking lunch, those 80's songs playing on the internet livens up my slow beat tempo. But since hubby enters the scene and needs to finish a task on this laptop, then I have to give way. Kitchen is where I am heading after posting this. See you later alligator!!!

two worlds

Yes, I'm back working in my clinic, taking a break as a housewife for more than half a year. I missed this old routine I've been doing for 10 years now that's why I declined to give it up. Besides, this is who I really am. I've learned that a woman shouldn't lose her identity after marriage. When the route brings her difficulties and temptation to neglect self respect begins to emerge, maybe it's wiser to come back from where she came from to be reminded of her old self. In this way, rediscovery is easier and faster but it should also include contemplation. This does not apply to every woman out there but for me, I guess it does. Juggling two careers in my hands is not easy but the heck!! It definitely can be worked out fine.
